International activism
“Freiheit ist immer Freiheit der Andersdenkenden”

This practice group advises and provides legal assistance to activists in the areas of human rights, the environment, housing rights (squatters), animal rights, labour unions and other grassroots initiatives.
Our lawyers combine their expertise in international, criminal and immigration law to tackle national and international criminal cases. We provide advice regarding protests and demonstrations in the Netherlands and abroad, and defend activists who have been threatened with extradition as a result of their activities. Current and past clients include anti-war activists, Sea Shepherd, the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, anti-government activists who attempted to occupy the Iranian embassy in The Hague, animal rights activists and a number of opposition movements outside the Netherlands.
